I want Ronaldo to break my 10 years record at Juventus

Juventus legend David Trezeguet has revealed that he will happy if the Bianconeri new signing Cristiano Ronaldo breaks his goalscoring record at the club.
Trezeguet was recently interviewed by La Stampa and was asked about how he would react if Ronaldo ever breaks his goalscoring record of 171 goals in 10 seasons. He said: “Should he beat my record? No problem, I would be proud.
“I have never been jealous of others’ records, imagine if it is overcome by someone, he should be a champion. Until June, I was the youngest Frenchman to have scored in the final round of a World Cup.
“Now, that guy is Mbappé and that’s how it goes: I’m happy to have been overtaken by a guy with a great future “.
Ronaldo started for Juventus in their Serie A opener against Chievo Verona last week and is expected to start against Lazio later today as well.

Champions League group-stage draw:

Everything you need to know
26 August 2018 European Football
Real Madrid have won three Champions League finals in a row
Four English clubs will find out their Champions League group stage opponents when the draw takes place on Thursday.
Manchester City will be in pot one, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in pot two, while Liverpool will be given either pot two or three.
The draw takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco at 17:00 BST.
Twenty-six clubs qualified directly for the group stages, with six still to come via the play-offs after the second legs are completed on Wednesday.
How does it work?
The Champions League and Europa League winners make it into pot one, alongside the champions in each of the six highest-ranked nations.
It means there are three Spanish sides among the top seeds this season because Real Madrid won a third successive Champions League, Atletico Madrid were crowned Europa League winners and Barcelona clinched the La Liga title.
The rest of the pots are decided by club coefficients – a ranking determined by how well a club has done in Europe over the past five years, and also how their association has performed.
Liverpool will make it into pot two if Benfica, the only side with a higher coefficient than them in the play-offs, do not qualify. The Portuguese side head to PAOK of Greece on the back of a 1-1 draw at home in the first leg.
One club from each pot will drawn to make up eight groups of four teams. Clubs from the same nation cannot be drawn together at this stage.
Already assigned:
Pot one: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, Paris St-Germain, Lokomotiv Moscow.
Pot two: Borussia Dortmund, Porto, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur, Roma.
Pot three: Schalke, Lyon, Monaco, CSKA Moscow.
Pot four: Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Inter Milan, Hoffenheim.
To be decided: Liverpool, Valencia, Viktoria Plzen, plus six play-off winners.
Play-off first-leg results: Ajax 3-1 Dynamo Kiev, Vidi 1-2 AEK, Young Boys 1-1 Dinamo Zagreb, Benfica 1-1 PAOK, BATE 2-3 PSV, Red Star Belgrade 0-0 Salzburg.
When does the football start?
The first Champions League group stage games take place on 18 and 19 September, with clubs playing the last of their six matches on 11 or 12 December.
The knockout rounds begin in February, with the tournament concluding with the final at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano on 1 June, 2019.

Rafael Benitez predicts where Chelsea FC will finish

Rafael Benitez believes that Chelsea FC will be one of the three main contenders for the Premier League title this season.
The Blues are currently getting used to life under new manager Maurizio Sarri after he was brought in as the club’s new manager following the sacking of Antonio Conte last month.

The west London side have made a strong start to the new campaign, with Chelsea FC having beaten both Huddersfield Town and Arsenal in their opening two games of the new season.

Chelsea FC are now preparing for their trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they look to continue their strong start to the season.

And Benitez feels that the west London side are set to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference ahead of Sunday’s clash, Benitez said when asked if Chelsea FC can win the title: “I think so.

“Maybe at the moment, there are three teams that you could say that they are a little bit ahead of the others, for me – Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City – because of the level, the performances last year and the money they spent.

“Then Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal, they have to go back to things they were doing well. They have quality in the squad and they can compete, for sure.

“But if you have to pick three, I will pick these. They have enough quality to do well.”

Chelsea FC ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.

The west London side did manage to end last season on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final back in May.

Carragher: Kepa could cost Chelsea top 4 finish

image

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Kepa Arrizabalaga could cost Chelsea a top four finish.

Thibaut Courtois joined Real Madrid for £35million earlier this month.

Carragher told Sky Sports: “It’s hard to leave Chelsea out.

“But you think of them playing Thursday-Sunday [because of the Europa League] and the goalkeeper is still young.

“He may go on to be one of the world’s best, but it’s not Courtois. They have lost one of the world’s best.

“I think the other sides have just got the edge on them but we are talking fine margins

Updated: Drake and Eminem’s ‘feud’ explained: What’s the truth behind it all?

image

Roll up, roll up: it’s the  most ferocious fallout in rap history. Or have they?
It’s 2016 and so by now you should be more than aware of how a simple comment can snowball into a ‘reported’ feud, with numerous sources, insiders and any number of social media opinions helping fuel the fire.
Have Drake and Eminem really fallen out? Digital Spy has put together an explainer to get to the truth behind all the hyperbole.
How did this ‘feud’ between Drake and Eminem start then?
Well, first off let’s make this clear: this is how the rumour started, not the actual feud. But there is a feud involved, of course. Basically, Drake and New Jersey rapper Joe Budden have thrown a few jabs over the past month or so. Budden did the unthinkable and criticised Drake’s chart-topping album Views on a podcast (gasp!), and the Canadian star responded with a few on-stage mentions as well as some direct messages on social media. Then Budden released four diss tracks but no-one really batted an eye-lid, let alone Drizzy.
But Joe Budden isn’t Eminem, so why has Slim Shady got involved?
Okay, so Joe Budden is a member of rap group Slaughterhouse and he’s also signed to Eminem’s record label. Saying that though, Slim has shown no signs of getting involved in this particular beef. His apparent involvement stems from elsewhere.
Essentially, Ebro Darden – a radio host on Hot 97 – revealed to his listeners that he was recently speaking to Drake about a rumour that Eminem was preparing to weigh in on this feud. “I [Ebro] told Drake that I heard the rumour was Eminem was going to gear up to come after him,” he explained. “He laughed. He was like, ‘That’s not gonna happen.’ He’s like, ‘He’d never do that. And if he did, I got something for him, too.'”
Naturally, within minutes the whole of the internet was anticipating a blockbuster rap feud. Speculation spread quickly. Hollywood Life called upon all their reliable sources close to each camp and gave us lines about Shady taking the whole rap battle seriously and Rihanna being worried about which side she’d have to pick. All nonsense, of course.
And behold, a rap ‘feud’ was created.
Surely Ebro would want to quickly clarify this rumour he’d just started?
Oh yeah, Ebro was very swift in making sure people knew he was just messing. “It was such a joke and people ran with it… Slow news day. Drake got too much respect for all that…” he tweeted, before
adding : “Facts we was joking…Talked about in jest & fools jumped out the window. I ain’t even think it was a big deal .” Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg simply tweeted: “Slow news day I see.”
As for Drake, well he cooly responded with one of his own lyrics in an Instagram post.
So Drake just let it lie and didn’t say anything else?
Well, not really. Being one of the biggest stars in the world, you’d want to put the record straight in a more dramatic rap star-worthy fashion. So what did he do? He addressed it in front of a sold-out crowd at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Drizzy pulled out a new freestyle, criticising Hot 97’s “lies” and demanding DJ Funkmaster Flex be fired before he appears on the radio station again. But why Funkmaster and not Ebro, we hear you ask? When Drake was beefing with Meek Mill last summer (yep, these feuds pop up all the time), Funkmaster Flex spent a lot of time hyping up Meek’s diss track on the station.
The DJ also brought up the whole controversy around Drake’s alleged ghostwriter Quentin Miller and basically just very much sided with Meek Mill. Hence why Drizzy now wants Flex fired.
So now back to Ebro: after Drake made his demand at Madison Square Garden, the Hot 97 DJ said that he’s now just going to sit back and watch it all unfold. Get the popcorn etc etc.
Oh jeez. What’s Funkmaster Flex’s response been to all this?
He’s had a lot to say over the weekend actually. The most notable being that the whole controversy around claims Drake uses a ghostwriter was brought upon by himself. Apparently, Meek Mill’s team was suspicious that Drake’s ‘R.I.C.O’ verse had a few subtle digs at him, so the Canadian star’s team allegedly sent over the reference track to them to deflect the accusations. That’s when all the trouble started.
APPARENTLY .
But other than that, Funkmaster Flex also had an almighty put-down up his sleeve for Drake. “First of all, Drake, I’m not really worried about you making me lose my job,” he said. “You want me to tell you why? Seventy percent of your fans wear high heels. The other 30 percent are guys who wear sandals. I’m not concerned about you, bro.” Ouch.
OK, so now this has all blown up, how is Joe Budden feeling about it all?
Not great, to be honest. Yeah, Joe understands that it was his initial beef with Drake on a couple of diss tracks that poked this particular bees’ nest – not to mention him ribbing artist-come-producer PARTYNEXTDOOR for giving all his best tracks away to Drake (and Rihanna in the form of ‘Work’) – but he still has a respect for Drizzy being one of the biggest artists in the world right now.
That didn’t stop Ebro and the rest of the Hot 97 team from grilling him over his involvement though. And when we say grilling, we mean burned to a cinder over maximum heat on a gas-fuelled BBQ. It got so tense that Joe actually walked out of the radio interview.
And what about Eminem?
Well, Slim Shady initially kept very quiet about it all, but then the best thing ever happened. Eminem was a surprise guest at Drake’s Summer Sixteen tour when it stopped by Detroit. They performed ‘Forever’ together and the whole arena quite literally lost their shit.
“Make some noise for the greatest rapper to ever get on a motherf**king microphone. He goes by the name of Eminem – legendary shit tonight,” Drake said. And Eminem was just as complimentary back, saying: “It’s an honour to share the stage with this man right here. Detroit one more time, make Drake feel the love.”
What a moment.
So let us get this straight: Drake is in a feud, but it’s actually with Hot 97 and Funkmaster Flex and Joe Budden and NOT with Eminem?
That’s correct.
But why is everyone reporting that Drake’s in a feud with Eminem then?
Because ‘Drake versus Eminem’ makes a better headline than ‘Drake is angry with a radio station DJ’. That’s why you clicked on this piece and read all the way through, isn’t it?

Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez in fitness battle to face Tottenham

Alexis Sanchez faces a race against time to be fit for Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur next Monday.
Chile international Sanchez missed the 3-2 defeat at Brighton on Sunday after picking up a muscle injury in training on Friday, although sources have told ESPN FC the problem is considered minor.
But with just seven days to prepare for Tottenham’s visit to Old Trafford, the 29-year-old — who will undergo further tests this week — has a battle to be fit.
It means manager Jose Mourinho faces the prospect of lining up for United’s first head-to-head against a top-six opponent without a star man as they look to bounce back from the demoralising result at the Amex Stadium.
Sources have also told ESPN FC that Luke Shaw will be assessed this week after picking up two knocks to his left foot against Brighton.
The left-back was involved in clashes either side of half-time and, despite being able to complete the 90 minutes, will be managed carefully to ensure he is fit to face Spurs.
Mourinho should be able to welcome back Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia against Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Both have returned to training following abdominal and calf problems respectively, but were not deemed fit enough to make the trip to Brighton.

Manager Jose Mourinho says Manchester United will be at a disadvantage in comparison with other clubs when the new Premier League season kicks off.

United are currently on a pre-season tour in the USA but they are without the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard – who are relaxing after lengthy stays at the World Cup in Russia.

Ahead of Thursday’s International Champions Cup match against AC Milan in California, Mourinho was asked if he was happy with how the tour was going.

“Of course I am not happy.”

Asked if the other potential Premier League title contenders were not facing the same issues, Mourinho said: “If you look to the players Chelsea and Liverpool have in pre-season, especially these two teams but also Arsenal, I think if you compare, you see the difference of the situation.

“(Manchester) City and Tottenham are in the similar situation as we are.”

Asked if he felt he had a squad who can compete for the title this season, Mourinho said: “I don’t answer your question.”

United open their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford against Leicester City on August 10, before travelling to Brighton on August 19 for their second fixture.

Pep Guardiola yet to decide whether Manchester City will make another signing this summe

Pep Guardiola wants to add to his Manchester City squad but insists he will not bring a player to the Etihad Stadium just for the sake of it.

After four failed bids in January, City finally completed the £60m signing of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester this summer, in a deal which saw him become the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

But Guardiola has endured plenty of frustration in his pursuit of a deep-lying midfielder, losing out to Manchester United and Chelsea for the signatures of Fred and Jorginho respectively, and the City boss says he will make a decision on whether to add to his squad before next month’s deadline.

Miralem Pjanic is the latest player in that position linked to a move to the Etihad Stadium but Guardiola categorically dismissed a move for the Juventus playmaker.

“No, Pjanic is a player of Juventus in Turin,” Guardiola said when asked directly about his reported interest in the Bosnia international.

“We are not interested in Pjanic. Saying that, he is a top player but we are not interested.

“We’ll see, we still have a few weeks to decide [if we want to bring players in].

“Maybe one will come, maybe not, we’ll see, but at the moment we have a good enough squad. We can handle players in different positions and we’ll see in the last days – we’ll decide to buy one player or wait till next season.

“The scouting department are always looking for players in all positions. In the holding midfield position we don’t have less players because Fernandinho is still there one more year, [Ilkay] Gundogan can play there, Fabian Delph can play there. Oleksander Zinchenko, if he stays, can play there, we have players can play that position.”

Manchester City play Liverpool in an International Champions Cup tie on Wednesday, with both sides looking for a first win on their US tour after both suffered defeats by German side Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool are the bookmakers’ favourites to push City for the Premier League title but Guardiola is refusing to rule out a title challenge from elsewhere.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane set to return against Manchester City

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are in line to feature for Liverpool against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Salah and Mane only returned to Liverpool training last Friday after representing Egypt and Senegal, respectively, at the World Cup in Russia.

They are expected to play some part in Liverpool’s International Champions Cup clash with City in New Jersey, with Cardiff transfer target Marko Grujic – who represented Serbia at the World Cup – also set to feature.

Liverpool’s £13m summer signing Xherdan Shaqiri is in New York and will meet up with his team-mates in New Jersey but the game is expected to come too soon for him to be involved.

With Shaqiri, Naby Keita, Fabinho and goalkeeper Alisson all joining Liverpool over the summer, boss Jurgen Klopp will now look to whittle down his squad.

Danny Ward made a £12.5m move to Leicester last week, while former Burnley striker Danny Ings also seems to be on his way out of the club after three injury-plagued seasons .

Harry Wilson has joined Derby on loan, while youngsters Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent have both joined former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard at Rangers for the duration of the Scottish Premiership season.

“When all the players are back the squad is big, so it is clear they all need opportunities to play,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.

Jurgen Klopp hits back at critics after Liverpool sign goalkeeper Alisson for a world-record £67m.

“The ones who are very young, we don’t think about it; they are in absolutely the right place now and if they can play with us or the U23s, it is perfect.

“Both is really good and we don’t have to rush that, but then we have other age groups where you think it makes no sense to show in a different league, maybe a different club in a different league, how far they are in the moment.

“Then of course, it is clear there are always requests from other clubs and we need to stay open for that.

“In the end, it makes no sense to have 35 players in the squad because developing players means they have to feel needed; they need to see ‘in this or this situation, I can play in the team’ and all that stuff.

“I am pretty sure a few things will happen, but exactly what time will show.”

Academy goalkeeper Shamal George, who has been at the club since 2009, has signed a new contract ahead of a loan move to Tranmere until January
